Spent yesterday afternoon at Argaty Red Kites, photographing these magnificent birds – here is a selection of shots from that session.
The red kites are fed a small amount of food at 2pm each day at Lerrocks Farm, outside Doune, just north of Stirling. It is a working farm, run by the Bowser family, so you will also hear a variety of farm animals in the background. However, it is the swooping & diving of the kites that will hold your attention. I would advise booking beforehand – click here for their website details to find out more: Argaty Red Kites
It’s ideal for all ages & certainly something different, if you have not been before. There is plenty of parking for those who are booked in, toilets are also available & the entry fee is currently only £10 per person. They have a ranger on hand to tell you about the red kites – yesterday’s ranger, Nicky, looked after us all very well & Lynn, the owner, was on hand as well.
