Corstorphine Hill lies between Edinburgh Zoo & Murrayfield Golf Course. It can be disconcerting, as you walk up the hill, to hear monkeys and a lion’s roar – especially if you didn’t realise you are right next to the zoo.
At the top of Murrayfield golf course there are fabulous views over the Firth of Forth, Edinburgh Castle, Arthur’s Seat & Salisbury Crags and beyond to the East Lothain coast line.
As you take in these views, don’t be surprised to turn around and find a zebra staring at you – yes, the zebras are clearly visible and only a few yards away at times!
You’ll maybe hear woodpeckers and if you are lucky you may even see a resident Jay or the occasional roe deer.
