I’ve had four fabulous weeks in July – I took trips to Morton Lochs at Tentsmuir, Loch Leven, Linlithgow Loch and several hotspots around Edinburgh. On top of all this I’ve also been able to spend quite a bit of time on the Water of Leith, almost every day.
Highlights of the month have to be the Green Woodpeckers & Ospreys around Loch Leven and sightings of Kingfishers & Otters every day on the Water of Leith. One female otter has given birth to two cubs and both cubs are out of the holt and enjoying life on the water.
A visit to Morton Lochs, at Tentsmuir in Fife, did not disappoint with red squirrels, jays, woodpeckers and a multitude of butterflies, damselflies, common darters and other smaller insects.
Here a selection of July’s photos.
