Edinburgh is not a place where you would expect to see gannets. However, as the largest gannet colony resides on the Bass Rock along the Firth of Forth, then there is no surprise that gannets can be seen along the Edinburgh shoreline at Cramond, Silverknowes, Granton, Leith, Portobello and Musselburgh.
