Argaty Red Kites – Red Squirrels & Red Kites
I visited Argaty Red Kites in Doune, with a friend this week. We booked in for the red squirrels & woodland birds in the morning (9:30-1:00pm) and followed that up with the red kite feeding session, in the afternoon.
There were plenty of red squirrels scurrying about for 3 hours in the morning, as well as plenty tits, finches, nuthatches, woodpeckers and several distant visits from a jay. As always, 3 hours disappeared pretty quickly!
The red kite feeding session, in the afternoon, started at 2pm, and, as soon as the food for them went out, the kites became very active, as usual. On this occasion they were fairly active until about 3:30pm – in all honesty, my pal & I were probably the ones that were fading around 3:30pm, after 5 hours of photography!
Another great day out at Argaty Red Kites which I would recommend a visit, at any time of the year.
